The Senior Accountant is responsible for general accounting activities, preparing financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule. This position is also responsible for analyzing revenues and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis.Essential Functions

  • Timely completion of the month-end reporting process, including creation of journal entries and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ensure adherence to the control framework and processes relating to the financial reporting function.
  • Analyse financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variances.
  • Assist with financial and other audits.
  • Perform delegated analytics and responsibilities as requested by the finance manager.
  • Duties require broad conceptual judgement, initiative and ability to deal with complex accounting issues.
  • Completion of all other duties as assigned

  • Minimum of five years professional work experience with minimum of two years of experience at the senior accountant level
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting
  • Previous experience with the month-end close process, ability to analyse financial statements and ability to analyse account balances and determine accuracy
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and tasks
  • Solid understanding of Accounting, Payroll and Billing procedures
  • Organize and write procedures in a logical/methodical manner
  • Able to maintain confidential information
  • Works well in a team environment and able to work with a diverse group of people
  • Adaptable, dependable, diplomatic and polished
  • Possess problem solving and decision making skills
  • High proficiency in written and verbal communications, professionalism and customer service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications and a high comfort level to learn new programs
  • Must have at least intermediate Excel skills
  • Prior experience with Navision software is a plus
