Job description: Job Description:THE ROLE:Our client has an engaging employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the Wholesale Distribution industry located in Calgary, Alberta. The role will be integral in ensuring the smooth operation of accounting functions, with a focus on account reconciliation, reviewing process and reassessmentResponsibilities:
- Undertake account reconciliation tasks meticulously to ensure accuracy in financial records in AR/AP
- Familiarize with current process/systems and contribute to their optimization
- Utilize Microsoft Excel to organize and analyze financial data, aiding in insight and decision-making processes
- Mapping chart of accounts
ABOUT YOU:You are an accomplished Senior Accountant with over five years of experience in full cycle accounting. With proven proficiency in handling complex reconciliations, you are keenly detail oriented. Your advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, particularly in manipulating large datasets, have made you an expert in data management. Coupled with your strong analytical skills, you have an eagle eye for details and an innate ability to spot inconsistencies and anomalies. To top it all, you hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field and hold professional qualifications such as CPA or ACCA. - Proven experience (5 + years) as a Senior Accountant with full cycle accounting in a similar industry
- Proficient in complex reconciliations; complex accounts, balance sheet and bank
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel with proficiency in large data set, pivot tables and lookups
- Understanding of inventory management, inventory forecasting, and inventory planning is desirable
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of AR & AP
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with ability to connect effectively with multiple levels of stakeholders
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field is required
- Relevant professional qualifications such as CPA or ACCA are required
- Knowledge of Oracle is a definite plus
- Proven track record in process improvements and strategic planning
