Job description: Senior AccountantOur client is searching for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join their team. This role is responsible for preparing compilation, review, and audit engagements in accordance with professional standards, as well as corporate, personal, and trust tax returns. The Senior Accountant will also contribute to tax planning, GST filings, payroll, and T4 preparation, while maintaining a high level of client service and technical accuracy. The ideal candidate will bring a CPA designation and at least five years of progressive experience in public practice, along with strong proficiency in accounting software and a client-focused approach.Your success will be defined by your ability to:

• Prepare financial statements and working papers for compilation, review, and audit engagements
• Complete corporate, personal, and trust income tax returns accurately and efficiently
• Provide tax planning solutions tailored to client needs
• Prepare GST returns, payroll calculations, and T4 slips
• Maintain compliance with firm policies and professional standards
• Prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple deadlines
• Communicate clearly with clients and team members
• Deliver high-quality service and build long-term client relationships

Your strengths include:

• CPA designation (preferred)
• 5+ years of experience in public practice accounting
• Proficiency in Caseware, Jazz-it, TaxPrep, Sage 50, QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel and Word
• Strong understanding of client business needs and growth strategies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and prioritization abilities
• Commitment to professional ethics and outstanding client service
