Get in touch now!ABOUT OUR CLIENTMy client, a well-known name in the mining industry, is looking to expand their Canadian accounting team due to continued growth! They are a producing Canadian precious metals company headquartered in Vancouver, BC, that is focused on operating its property in Mexico.ABOUT THE ROLE:The Senior Financial Accountant role entails is responsible for preparing and maintaining accounting records to support periodic financial closes and consolidated financial reporting. Additionally, this role involves managing existing reporting systems within a dynamic, international mining corporation.We’re looking for a proactive team player with a positive outlook, capable of navigating the complexities of our organization. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of expertise, experience, and strong interpersonal skills necessary for success in this critical position.Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct monthly financial closes at the corporate office, including reconciliations.
• Review regional reporting packages and make necessary corporate consolidation adjustments for both operating and non-operating subsidiaries, including inventory and property, plant, and equipment schedules.
• Prepare monthly cash flow schedules and maintain regular communication with regional accounting offices.
• Perform intercompany reconciliation of investment and loan facilities and prepare elimination entries as needed.
• Assist in preparing internal monthly financial reports, along with supporting schedules and reconciliations.
• Prepare supporting documentation for quarterly and annual financial statements and Management’s Discussion and Analysis (MD&A).
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors to provide audit documentation for internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 (SOX), while fostering positive auditor relationships.
• Provide mentorship to junior accounting staff.

THE REQUIREMENTS

• 2+ years of accounting experience
• Experience within the mining industry, or public accounting (Big 4 – KPMG, Deloitte, PWC, EY) is highly desired
• CPA designation or CFE Completion is required
• Strong understanding of IFRS and financial reporting

COMPENSATION

• $95,000-$120,000 depending on experience + Bonus
• Pathway to management with clear progression goals
