Job description: Job Description:We are offering an opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join a team in Edmonton, Alberta. This role involves participating in month end financial reporting and oversight for multiple businesses within the corporate sector.Responsibilities:
- Oversee the accurate and efficient preparation of month-end financial reports
- Handle the recording and posting of daily journal entries, and complete General Ledger account reconciliations
- Ensure the accurate and timely maintenance of continuity schedules
- Manage GST filings and remittances, ensuring completion within required timelines
- Assist with the preparation of year-end financial statements and support packages for external auditors, including responding to inquiries
- Prepare various tax-related schedules
- Perform other related duties and projects as directed by senior financial officials.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel for financial reporting and analysis
- Apply skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records
- Participate in Month End Close activities and prepare Month-end Journal Entries and Month-end Reports
- Conduct Monthly Account Reconciliation to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
Requirements:
- Candidate must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role as a Senior Accountant.
- Experience with Balance Sheet Reconciliation is required.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are crucial.
- Experience with Month End Close processes is necessary.
- Proficiency in preparing Month-end Financial reports is required.
- Knowledge and experience with Month-end Journal Entries is a must.
