Job description: Posted On: Jul 31, 2024Senior AccountantOur client in Airdrie (AB) is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their accounting team. As a senior accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing financial activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.Your success will be defined by your ability to:

• Maintain the integrity and timeliness of the underlying accounting records for multiple locations.
• Perform required month end reconciliations and prepare corresponding documentation for approval and processing.
• Prepare month end financial and operational reporting packages for financial and management reporting.
• Integrate and oversee full cycle accounting records for acquired and existing entities.
• Perform other daily and weekly financial and reporting requirements as needed.
• Ensure positive continuous improvement to the accounting and reporting function and associated processes.
• Ensure the financial and accounting policies and programs are followed and comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

Your strengths include:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
• CPA designation or working towards CPA designation.
• 5+ years’ experience.
• Experience with Sage 300 / QuickBooks or similar enterprise management and accounting application is considered an asset.
• Experience in the transportation and/or waste industries as well as with Trux and/or Navisoft Business Solution Software would be considered an asset.
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
