Job description: We are looking for a SENIOR ACCOUNTANT – CONSUMPTION TAXES, for a public company, in a TWELVE-MONTH contractual mandate in hybrid mode 3 days a week in person and 2 days a week remote and this in Ville St-Laurent. This is a maternity leave replacement.Tasks:CONTRACT REVIEW of purchases (judgment of transactions, adequate taxes? problematic? Optimization or not? judgment on transactions)Answer questions from the purchasing department, and sometimes involves carrying out research.Analysis of taxes on purchases for the divisions: Royalties/Marketing/Services/Maintenanceverification if the supply purchased from the right partner and if this partner is registered for consumption taxes.Review of the calculation of sales taxes for all new transactionsEnsure that indirect tax compliance procedures are followed.Assist the manager with any other related tasks.Criteria:CPA in progress OR MBA OR Bachelor’s degree in accounting with a concentration in taxation OR Experience in a similar role in recent years.Intermediate ExcelExperience in large public companies required.Knowledge of the retail, aerospace, technology sector a definite assetBasic knowledge of accounting standards desired.Good knowledge of Canadian consumption taxes required.Experience in reading and interpreting indirect tax contracts.Knowledge of TAXNET PRO required.Experience with an ERP system such as JD Edwards, Peoples Soft or SAP an asset.Fluency in spoken and written English and French, as results are presented in Canada in English.Comfortable in a fast-paced and changing environment.Excellent communication is required.Attention to detail required.Autonomous and fast-pacedRobert HalfRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
