Job description: Senior Accountant: Contract 3-6 months
A mid-market private equity firm with a global presence, dedicated to providing long-term capital and strategic support to iconic and innovative companies. With a portfolio comprising diverse businesses, the firm is committed to enhancing value through disciplined investment strategies. As part of our Finance and Operations team, is seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to join our Toronto office for a contract term of approximately 3-6 months.Advantages. . Daily Fund Activity Review: Analyze and reconcile daily cash flow activities, ensuring accuracy in asset and cash balances.
. Cash Management Analysis: Prepare cash management analyses, including initiating wires and transfers.
. Accounts Payable Processing: Handle fund-level accounts payable and associated expenses.
. Capital Calls and Distributions: Prepare capital calls and distributions for private funds.
. Partnership Allocations: Calculate and process partnership allocations accurately.
. Journal Entries and Reporting: Input manual entries, prepare necessary reporting, and journal entries to support fund activities.
. Coordination: Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate accounting of all activities.
. Legal Agreement Compliance: Understand legal agreements to capture relevant aspects in fund accounting and reporting.
. Financial Statements: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, along with annual audit packages.
. Tax Filings Support: Assist in the preparation of tax information for filings.
. Stakeholder Communication: Respond to inquiries from counterparties, vendors, auditors, etc.
. Project Participation: Engage in projects and provide general support as required.Qualifications. 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably with familiarity in US GAAP and public accounting exposure.
. University/College degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent qualification.
. Professional Accounting designation (e.g., CPA, CA, CMA, CGA).
. Preferred qualifications:
. Completion of the Canadian Securities Course.
. Experience with ERP systems.
. Financial industry experience.
. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
. Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills, capable of aligning tasks with project objectives.
. Self-starter with excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
