Job description: Expiry date:2027-11-13Horizon Recruitment Inc. is conducting a search for a growing Oil & Gas company. Our client is looking for an experienced Intermediate Accountant to join the team and oversee multiple entities and assist in the audit process. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer the ideal candidate will have a strong background in small to medium sized Oil and Gas companies. This is a 12 month part-time contract position, likely to be extended or made permanent.Responsibilities:

• Assist the Financial Reporting and Accounting team in the monthly and quarterly accounting processes
• Preparation of quarterly account reconciliations, and quarterly bank covenant requirements
• Preparation of monthly and quarterly journal entries
• Provide the required information and support for both external and internal audits, including assisting with the audit process and relationship with external auditors
• Assist the planning and operations teams with the analytical review of business unit performance and results to budget and forecast for monthly management reporting
• Other ad-hoc duties as required

Requirements:

• Minimum 3-5 years experience in similar or related roles
• Designated accountant (CMA, CGA, CPA, CA)
• Strong technical accounting skills, with experience in GAAP accounting interpretation and analysis
• Attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
• Effective communication, organization, and team building skills complemented by a strong work ethic
• Motivated self-starter who performs well independently and within a team environment
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities

Rewards:

• $45-$60/hr
