You will manage key accounting functions, from preparing complex accounting transactions to ensuring accurate financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders. - Contribute to full cycle accounting functions by preparing and reviewing routine and complex accounting transactions.
- Prepare & review key components and support working papers within the month-end and year-end close—including deferred revenue, balance sheet reconciliations and period-end adjusting journal entries.
- Prepare and review various monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports as required for internal and external stakeholders—including legal entities and consolidated financial statements.
- Ensure compliance of accounting transactions with local accounting standards, tax, and legal requirements.
- Coordinate all quarterly Sales Tax reconciliations and remittances to applicable government authority.
- Prepare supporting documentation and reports for global income tax filings.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of key operational/financial controls, which allow the company to scale and mitigate fraud or misuse of company resources.
- Reconcile and maintain the accuracy of revenue and deferred revenue through the use of automated revenue recognition software.
- Prepare and communicate KPI reporting with insights and analysis to senior management.
- Lead external financial audits including the preparation of auditor requests, drafting accounting memos and preparing support for note disclosures.
- Mentor and support more junior team members in their development as accountants.
Who You Are
- 4+ years of experience in an Accounting role; experience in public Accounting considered an asset.
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with an emphasis on proficiency with lookups and pivots
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google G-suite products.
- Strong understanding of full cycle accounting and bookkeeping and strong knowledge of Finance and Accounting concepts.
- Financial statement preparation experience, including income statement, balance sheet and cash flow.
- Experience working within accounting systems including posting modules, general ledgers, financial statement exports and reports.
- Experience managing time and priorities with a skill for regularly revisiting priorities based on importance to ensure effective timely delivery.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in everything you do, which help you regularly solve challenging problems.
- A high degree of curiosity with an innate desire to understand the “why” and drive improvements.
- An “ownership” mindset, with the capacity to learn new tools quickly, identify and propose solutions to resolve challenges independently or as part of a team.
