Key Responsibilities:1. Staff Management & Leadership· Lead, mentor, and manage a team of analysts and support staff.· Conduct performance evaluations, provide training and professional development opportunities.· Establish clear objectives and workflow processes to ensure efficient and accurate financial operations.· Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.2. Financial Analysis & Reporting· Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.· Assist with the development and maintain dashboards and KPIs for key financial metrics.· Provide variance analysis, identify trends, and offer actionable insights for operational decision-making.· Support budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with department heads.· Assist Controller with annual audit preparation with external auditors.3. Job Costing & Project Accounting· Implement and maintain accurate job costing systems for projects or cost centers.· In collaboration with Operational Controller and Project Managers, analyze project costs versus budget; investigate and explain variances· Work with Operational Controller and Project Managers to improve cost control and profitability.· Ensure accurate allocation of labor, materials, and overhead to projects.4. Banking Transactions & Cash Management· Act as back up for all banking transactions, including EFT payments, wire transfers, deposits, and disbursements (initiate).· Manage company credit cards and banking platforms.· Work with Credit Manager to resolve and improve collections of outstanding customer accounts.5. Account Reconciliations & General Ledger Oversight· Review bank reconciliations and perform other balance sheet account reconciliations monthly.· Ensure accuracy and completeness of general ledger entries and journal postings.· Review and approve monthly closings and reconciliations.· Manage fixed asset schedules including additions, disposals, and amortization on a monthly basis.· Ensure compliance with GAAP or applicable accounting standards.· Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements· Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial systems (ERP/accounting software).QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE· CPA (CA, CMA, CGA) is required· Prior experience in the construction or aggregates industry is preferred.· Intermediate to expert working knowledge of Microsoft Business Central· Advanced proficiency in excel.· Minimum 2 years supervisory experience with dynamic team· Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.· Experience in job costing, project accounting and financial analysis is required· Strong leadership skills· Demonstrated leadership and ability to work cross-functionally with operations and project teams.At Knelsen, we build opportunity!
