Job description: If you are a talented and experienced Senior Buyer – Construction, Aplin has the right opportunity for you! Our Richmond, BC client is looking to grow their team! This is an office-based role but also provides for a flexible work arrangement, combining office and remote options!Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, evaluate, and execute contract strategies to achieve best value procurement for the organization.
  • Perform business intelligence analysis to guide and support business units for strategic and tactical procurement initiatives.
  • Build and manage successful relationships with vendors and support vendor performance management.
  • Source and procure goods and services using a competitive process including preparing RFX documents and administrating the entire procurement process through an online bidding platform (Bonfire)
  • Negotiate with vendors and prepare various agreements using template documents
  • Work with client groups as well as supporting business units such as finance, legal, and operations to drive the procurement process.

Key Qualifications:

  • Over 8 years of recent experience in procurement in a fast-paced and complex environment, supplemented by a bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • A professional designation in Supply Chain Management (SCMP) is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in industrial, construction, engineering, mechanical, or maintenance environments is preferred.
  • Strong business and financial acumen.
  • Highly skilled at building and managing relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills in managing cross-functional teams and projects.
