Job description: Atlantica is seeking qualified candidates for a Buyer in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The Buyer is a key member of our Procurement team, reporting directly to the Director of Project Services. Responsibilities:Reporting to the Director of Project Services and working in an exciting and collaborative environment, you will:
- Interface directly with Operational Team members, respond to procurement requests in a timely manner, obtain pricing from suppliers, complete and issue purchase orders to vendors
- Manage open purchase orders and maintain purchase order integrity in line with ERP system
- Build, maintain and manage relationships with key vendors
- Coordinate drawings and documentation between vendor and Project Managers for equipment purchases
- Generate, maintain, and publish monthly reports as required for commodity tracking, cost savings opportunities, material price volatility, supplier scorecards etc.
- Support with review and negotiation of contract terms and conditions with vendors
- Mitigate price increases and find alternate suppliers where necessary
- Provide follow up on purchased items, investigating back orders and non-compliance issues
Who are we looking for?Education and Experience:
- Post-secondary education in Business or related field or equivalent work experience
- Experience in purchasing or procurement is considered an asset
- Experience working in commercial, institutional or industrial construction environment is considered an asset

- Excellent communication skills
- Strong negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Self-motivated, able to work under pressure and adaptive to changing priorities
- Analytical, team orientated, problem solver with high attention to detail
- Ability to build and maintain good rapport with customers and suppliers
Job Details:
- Permanent, full-time
- 37.5 hours per week
- Monday to Friday
