About the Opportunity

  • Perform month-end closing activities and journal entries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting
  • Conduct reconciliations of general ledger accounts, including but not limited to cash, receivables, payables, and investment accounts
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and regulatory filings in compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to management regarding trends, variances, and potential risks
  • Participate in audits, providing support and documentation as required by external auditors
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry practices related to the insurance sector
  • Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff, fostering their professional development within the organization
  • Other duties as assigned

About You

  • Entrepreneurial and self-motivated
  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • CPA certification is required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting roles within the insurance industry, with a focus on Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance.
  • Exceptional technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft EXCEL
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities with a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments
  • The ability to work independently and, as part of a team
  • A proactive and adaptable mindset
  • Working knowledge of French and/or German could be considered an asset.

Salary Range
