As the Senior Cost Accountant, you will be assisting in the development of product costs and processes in an SAP environment while supporting manufacturing departments. This role will also be responsible for inventory reconciliation, analysis of material and labor variances manufacturing variances, and development of inventory controls. The ideal candidate must be highly motivated, energetic and able to work as part of a team and at a fast pace.This position is based out of Stayner, ON.What you’ll be doing:

• Support the development and accuracy of standard cost in SAP ERP system
• Assist in cost revaluation processes during ERP system updates or business changes
• Develop and manage key reports, monthly KPI measures, and processes to support operations management
• Analyze and report on manufacturing costs including material and labour variances
• Monitor and analyze inventory transactions, including scrap, rework, and obsolescence
• Participate in the manufacturing budgeting process and support effort to build manufacturing financial forecasts
• Build and maintain manufacturing and inventory Finance policies
• Develop product cost estimates for new product launches to assist Marketing Department
• Be the Finance subject matter expert to support day-to-day operations and key projects
• Analyze monthly plant expenditures and advise Finance management and operations on potential cost savings
• Assist with internal and external audits and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
• Any ad-hoc duties, reporting, analysis or business development initiatives as required

You’ll need to have:

• 3-5 years in a similar Cost Accounting role
• CPA designation or working towards a CPA designation
• Ability to assess processes and systems to identify key control activities
• Ability to identify and implement improvements to drive efficiencies
• Hands-on team player, able to interact professionally with all levels including staff outside of the Finance group
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to collaborate with a broader finance team, implement significant initiatives and drive toward exceptional performance
• Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
• An effective communicator with strong verbal and written skills
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented individual who is able to work under very tight deadlines with a strong attention to detail
• Ability to work well under pressure, change and ambiguity
• Prior experience in manufacturing or cultivation environment is preferred
• Ability to communicate with all levels of employees in a manufacturing environment
• Solid knowledge SAP EPR system is preferred, but not required
• Ability to travel to the manufacturing facility to learn operational & inventory processes
