Working for Pembina means working safely.Overview:Where there is growth there is opportunity!Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Calgary Office is recruiting a Senior Financial Accountant to join the Operation Financial Services group, part of the Facilities Division Calgary office. This position reports to the Supervisor, Accounting for the Natural Gas Business Unit.Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Prepare and review month end entries in accordance with IFRS including deferred revenue, opex accruals, joint venture agreements and lease accounting;
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly analysis of business results;
  • Support determination of accounting for complex transactions or unique contractual changes resulting from new business activity or new IFRS implications;
  • Lead and work collaboratively with various groups to ensure best accounting practices and deliver exceptional customer service across Pembina’s value chain;
  • Prepare calculations supporting quarterly and annually financial reporting requirements;
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, recommend solutions, and lead implementation;
  • Work with various stakeholders to develop and implement process to account for ESG initiatives including GHG reduction projects and carbon credits;
  • Support and maintain internal control processes and documentation to reduce audit risk;
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives;
  • Assist audit and partner or customer queries as required;

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7-10 years post-designation experience in similar or related roles;
  • Bachelor’s degree (Commerce, Bus. Admin or related discipline) and professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) required;
  • Strong technical accounting skills, with experience in IFRS accounting interpretation and analysis;
  • Ability to leverage technology and automation to improve business processes;
  • Attention to detail and excellent analytical skills;
  • Results oriented with strong organizational skills and proven ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and multitask;
  • Effective communication, organization, and team building skills complemented by a strong work ethic;
  • Motivated self-starter who performs well independently and within a team environment;
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities;
  • Experience in oil and gas and specifically midstream/pipeline industry would be an asset; and
  • The ideal candidate will be energetic, resilient and possess a positive, can-do attitude.
