Known for their cutting-edge solutions that improve environmental sustainability and economic viability in natural resource sectors worldwide, they place a strong emphasis on safety and cultivating a diverse and inclusive work environment where team members are valued and empowered to make impactful contributions.Reporting to the Manager, Financial Reporting Metals, the Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Reporting is responsible for performing financial consolidation and improving reporting, analysis, and business intelligence data for important stakeholders, such as management, the Board, and shareholders of the Division (which includes Moa Joint Venture (JV) and Sherritts Fort Site operations, as well as related operations like Technologies).This is a full-time position located in the Fort Saskatchewan office.Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Reporting responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a 3-12 month continuous improvement business plan.
- Create accurate and timely financial reports and performance analyses.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of external reporting and Joint Venture Board deliverables.
- Improve finance procedures and processes in accordance with divisional policies and strategic objectives.
- Foster relationships with accounting staff across various locations.
- Coordinate internal control testing to comply with regulations such as ESTMA and 52-109 requirements.
- Adopt new accounting standards under IFRS and provide guidance on the impact of new or non-routine transactions.
- Prepare transfer pricing reporting information.
- Oversee the annual external audit and quarterly reviews, including preparing documentation and addressing audit inquiries.
- Offer financial guidance as a business partner to the Joint Venture management team.
The successful candidate has:
- Over 5 years of experience in a public or complex company.
- Bachelors degree in business or a related field; Chartered Professional Accountant designation required.
- Understanding of current accounting best practices and standards.
- Ability to conceive and implement a 312-month business plan.
- Strong accounting data analysis skills.
- Proven adaptability to new technologies.
- Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills.
- Strong project management and time management abilities.
- Sensitivity to multicultural environments.
Compensation and benefits:
- The salary range is $85,000 $118,000 depending on experience.
