  • Coordinating and communicating the Joint Venture’s reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes
  • Developing and communicating financial models, financial reports and non-financial reports to the Joint Venture partners’ and their Executives, Boards, and Financial Institutions as needed.
  • Leading the simplification and automation of the Joint Venture’s financial planning process
  • Coordination with operations to provide real-time forecasting updates.
  • Preparing monthly forecast reporting packages. Highlight business performance vs plan and provide commentary.
  • Monitoring industry reporting trends, develop graphs to help tell the story.
  • Managing the Joint Venture’s Capital Expenditure approval process, including the review of financial costs and returns.
  • Developing capital budgeting templates and review opportunities. Calculate EBITDA, NPV, IRR payback and other key metrics.
  • Preparing and Review business cases and provide recommendations.
  • Responsible for maintaining Financial Planning internal controls and compliance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX).

Financial Analysis

  • Leading the development of new reports as required in the Joint Venture’s reporting system.
  • Coordinating with Joint Venture partners’ financial reporting teams as first point of contact for all reporting requests.
  • Supporting other special projects and perform ad hoc analysis and reporting as required.
  • Providing timely responses to operations requests.
  • Working with other departments in the development and implementation of improved processes and controls to support the company’s financial objectives.
  • Conducting due diligence and integration planning for acquisitions.
  • Supporting and coordinating with auditors as part of the annual financial statement audit.
  • Ad hoc analytics and modelling as required

QualificationsWhat Makes You the ONE

  • Five years’ experience in strategic, business, accounting or financial planning role.
  • Experience with financial analysis, financial modeling and/or business valuation.
  • Experience quantifying and reporting business performance.
  • Experience with forecasting and budgeting.
  • Mining or construction industry background preferred.
  • Previous exposure and understanding of both operational and financial aspects of business preferred.
  • Public company experience an asset.
  • Bachelor’s degree related to Business or Finance.
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required.
  • A CFA or MBA would be considered an asset.
  • Excellent financial analysis and modeling using Excel spreadsheets.
  • Business valuation skills
  • Ability to analyze operating and financial data and prepare reports and projections.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good organization skills, able to work independently, prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of NACG’s business.
  • Strong computer skills with Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with JD Edwards would be considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills (Written, Verbal and Presentation skills).
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise way.
