Reporting to the Manager, Legal Entity Reporting, this role is responsible for preparing a wide variety of domestic and international legal entity financial statements, in compliance with IFRS, that reflect the geographical diversity of our business.The successful candidate will be a team player who strives for excellence in reporting accuracy and demonstrates strong leadership skills while working within a team environment. This position will appeal to individuals who are highly motivated and enjoy a dynamic and fast paced environment.What you’ll do:Coordinate the compilation and accurate preparation of various Canadian and U.S. legal entity financials statements and note disclosures in accordance with IFRS for compliance and governance purposes.Work closely with Business Units and the Tax team to support the preparation of the legal entity financial statements.Review of various legal entity financial statements, as required.Support audit engagements with Cenovus’s external auditors, as required.Implement efficiencies and look for ways to improve processes.Work closely with Accounting Research to resolve any reporting and disclosure matters on a timely basis, including changes to IFRS.Assist with the preparation and review of tax step memos and accounting transactions, as required.Other reporting duties and projects, as required.Who you are:Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.Completion of a University undergraduate degree preferably in Accounting, Business or Finance.Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is required.Minimum 8 years post-designation progressive experience in an accounting/finance related environment.Strong analytical and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to work in a time-constrained environment.Excellent business writing and oral communication skills.Strong attention to detail and takes pride in accuracy.Strong knowledge of IFRS requirements.Strong understanding of the oil and gas industry.Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, SAP, Group Reporting and Workiva experience is considered an asset.Note: The application deadline for this position is 11:59 PM MT Aug 7, 2024.If you require accessibility assistance to complete the on-line application or otherwise apply for an open position with Cenovus, its subsidiaries and affiliates, please email .Internal candidates that are currently in a lower grade will be assessed based on their sustained job performance, how they demonstrate the expected organizational competency behaviors and values and in discussions with their current leader prior to determining next steps.Who we are:We’re an integrated energy company headquartered in Calgary with oil and natural gas production operations in Canada and the Asia Pacific region, and upgrading, refining and marketing operations in Canada and the United States.
