Join us!Job SummaryThe senior manager for commercial strategy and events is a pivotal role in CN’s commercial organization, with direct C-suite access and a direct report to the chief commercial officer. The successful candidate will help the chief commercial officer to manage our growth strategy and business processes, drive execution with business executives, monitor performance and manage the events team. They will bring energy, rigor, influencing capabilities and an investment mentality to help the commercial group thrive in a dynamic, collegial and fun environment.Main ResponsibilitiesCommercial Strategy· Coordinate with CCO and business unit executives to support and drive execution management around our strategic initiatives, such as our growth pipeline, IT projects, customer-improvement activities and internal continuous improvement projects· Work with the team to manage the overall commercial strategy with the team· Support CCO in review and analysis of financial performance, business cases, strategic reviews, investment opportunities and business processes· Manage workstreams and materials for regular cadence of internal commercial team business reviews· Support CCO with sales & marketing communications and materials for internal- and external-facing engagement streams such as board presentations, speaking engagements, etc.· Support with budget managementCommercial Events and Communications· Oversee the customer events and experiences team and manage their budget· Work with business unit executives to identify and select the best platforms and conferences to support the CN’s goals and maximize the return on its participation and support· Lead the customer advisory council and develop a clear set of initiatives that will have the greatest positive impact on as many of the attending council members as possible and on CNAdministration and People Leadership· Draft, review, and execute communications on behalf of the CCO· Serve as a resource to support with the application of sound project and change management principles around strategic initiatives· Represent the commercial group in functional townhall and collaboration workshops to ensure integrated planning and stakeholder involvementWorking ConditionsThe role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure and stress while running simultaneous projects.
