Job description: Senior Payroll & Benefits AdministratorOur client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Payroll & Benefits Administrator to join their team. This role is integral to managing payroll and benefits administration across multiple provinces. The ideal candidate will have extensive payroll experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with full ownership of their regional portfolio. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a payroll professional ready to apply their expertise in a multi-company, multi-provincial environment.Your success will be defined by your ability to:

  • Independently manage full-cycle, multi-provincial payroll on a weekly basis, ensuring accurate payroll processing for all employee types, including salaried and hourly staff
  • Oversee day-to-day payroll transactions and benefits administration, including managing the benefits management portal and maintaining accurate records for employee enrollments and off-boarding.
  • Handle all payroll entries in the general ledger (GL), and manage remittances, deductions, and payroll filings in compliance with provincial regulations.
  • Verify timesheets, collaborating with branch managers to address and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end payroll tasks, including reconciling payroll reports, processing T4s, T4As, and other essential documentation.
  • Provide flexible, creative solutions to payroll challenges, adapting to last-minute changes with ease.
  • Engage in proactive communication, responding to payroll and benefits inquiries with exceptional customer service.

Your strengths include:

  • A self-starter mindset with a willingness to ask questions, seek direction when needed, and an eagerness to learn and grow within the role.
  • Strong attention to detail, with proven experience managing payroll independently across multiple provinces.
  • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience within the construction industry is preferred.
  • Adaptability and creativity in handling payroll and benefits-related issues, along with the ability to think outside the box and provide timely solutions.
  • An approachable, team-oriented attitude and excellent communication skills to work effectively with both employees and managers.
  • A high level of flexibility and demonstrates the ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment
