Work Model: Hybrid – 3 office days, 2 remoteOur client in the Architecture, Engineering & Construction industry is looking for a Senior Project Accountant to join their team. The successful candidate will be a highly visible member of the cross functional project team and contribute to the successful execution of their respective projects by taking full ownership of all aspects of accounting, reporting and financial risk management in a timely manner.Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate financial reporting and timely invoicing for project activities.
  • Maintain project-related ledger accounts and prepare month-end project reports.
  • Manage project cash flow forecasts and adhere to month-end deadlines.
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable tasks specific to the project.
  • Address and resolve project-related accounting issues and ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures.

Desired qualifications/skills:

  • Must have Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Commerce, or related field. Complimentary certificate/designation, such as CPA or PMP, is an asset.
  • 10+ years of project accounting experience.
  • Previous industry experience within a medium to large sized firm in the architectural and engineering industry.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for learning new ERPs/accounting systems required, with prior experience in Primavera/Deltek/BST highly preferred.
  • Strong team ethic and values: identifies with team objectives and collaborates effectively with teammates.
  • Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently with little day-to-day supervision.
  • Advanced problem solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills including active listening.
  • Results driven self starter.
  • Adaptable to a culture that embraces change and quickly pivotable to shifting priorities in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
