Job description: This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant, to manage a portfolio and be an integral part of the team, within an established property management company.ABOUT THE CLIENTBased in Vancouver (Kerrisdale), My client is a premier real estate company with a portfolio comprised of commercial, multifamily and hotels assets throughout North America. Currently, they are looking to add a lead property accountant to their team!ABOUT THE POSITIONReporting to the owners the property accountant will be responsible for managing 2 accountants and a small portfolio of residential and commercial properties, some of the duties include but aren’t limited to:

• Manage cash receipts, prepare deposit slips and cash control sheets.
• Prepare rent cheques, post rent entries, and prepare transfer slips.
• Manage cashflow, security deposits and file GST/PST returns.
• Prepare income statement and balance sheet journal entries.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and prepare strata forms as needed.
• Perform G/L account reconciliations of various accounts, including intercompany balances.
• Record and maintain fixed asset purchases, prepaid expenses, and applicable depreciation and amortization schedules.
• Prepare variance analyses, liaising with property managers and operational staff where needed
• Prepare monthly reporting packages and other reports as needed for assigned properties
• Manage AP, rent increases and month end work.

REQUIREMENTS

• 4+ years of property accounting experience
• Experience working with Yardi
• 5 days in office role.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Salary: $90,0000 to $100,000
• RRSP matching
• Extended health and dental.
• 3 weeks vacation
