Job description: Job DescriptionWe are seeking a detailed and analytical Senior Property Accountant for our Multi-Family Residential division, who can leverage their knowledge of accounting systems, procedures and compliance to join our growing accounting team. The Senior Property Accountant produces timely and accurate financial statements for owners and assists Property Managers with the preparation and management of building budgets. The right individual for this role must be a strong team player, dedicated, flexible and adaptable in order to meet changing needs and workplace challenges.Essential Duties & Responsibilities (include but is not limited to):Provides accurate and timely full cycle accounting services to owners and tenants including:
- Responding to client needs either verbally or in writing.
- Preparing, compiling and mailing monthly financial statements.
- Performing variance analysis
- Responding to financial / cash flow inquiries of owners.
- Performing financial analysis and additional reports for clients and properties as required.
- Calculation of final management fee adjustments.
- Preparation of annual draft & final budgets for own portfolio.
- Assisting with imports for new fiscal year budgets.
- Proactively monitoring commercial tenant insurance certificates.
- Providing financial information to mortgage companies and appraisers as requested.
- Liaising with external auditors of client’s properties.
Knowledge, Skills & Proficiencies:
- Outstanding communication skills, verbal and written.
- Solid full cycle accounting experience, preferably with Yardi Voyager.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Experience providing excellent customer service in a demanding environment.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Well organized, resourceful and able to met deadlines.
- Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-pace environment
Education & Experience:Applicants must have a minimum of five years’ experience in property management.In addition:
- Must possess significant accounting experience combined with formal accounting training. CPA designation preferred.
- Able to communicate clearly with both internal and external contacts.
- Proven combination of attention to detail with speed and efficiency are a must.
- Experience using Yardi Voyager.
