Job description: What you will do
Supporting Johnson Controls’ Data Center Solutions group – Silent-Aire, this is a great opportunity to play a critical role on the Product team. You will drive reliability improvement programs using field service data and manage and distribute field service metrics and data to support data-driven decision making and prioritization within the organization. You will also provide technical support for site root cause analysis efforts by initiating and participating in meetings and following up on action items.How you will do itAdvise and mentor various engineering groups on when and how to use Reliability / Design Quality Engineering principles.Assure that said principles are utilized to develop and enhance products that are robust, safe, and effective.Champion creation of Reliability Plan activities and drive execution to demonstrate reliability and improve risk mitigation.Champion the implementation of FRACAS (Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System) throughout the organization.Assist in the development of preventive maintenance plans for customers.Understand our product lifecycle.Analyze, draw conclusions, report and present product information utilizing statistical techniques.Verify and assess new product testing plan including function/reliability and field trial against related standards and policies.Oversee the data analytics for our commissioning and field service reports with the goal of identifying emerging and high-risk failures and driving projects for improvement.Develop robust working relationships with Mission Critical Services with the goal to drive improvements and maximize revenue.Mentor field service technicians to improve data collection to aid in root cause analysis.What we look for
Required:Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or other related technical disciplineCertified Reliability Engineer (CRE) with ASQ (American Society for Quality) or equivalentProfessional Engineering (P.Eng.) designation (APEGA) or equivalent10+ years’ experience within a reliability engineering and new product developmentExperience in establishing reliability engineering principles within organizationsSolid experience in Accelerated Life Testing and Reliability Demonstration TestingDemonstrated ability to utilize Six Sigma tools (FMEAs, Gauge R&R, Capability Analysis, Statistical Process Control), Design of ExperimentsDemonstrated ability to utilize reliability and statistical tools (life data analysis Minitab, Reliasoft Weibull++, JPM, etc.)Ability to work/influence team across a matrixed organization on courses of action with minimal assistance using both written and verbal methodsEffectively operate within cross-functional teamsRelentless curiosity and a desire to learn and implement new solutions with proven technical expertiseAbility to communicate with multiple cultures/regionsExhibit a high-level of self-motivation, sense of urgency, and comfortability making recommendations across broad teamsAbility to track multiple projects simultaneously to ensure adherence to schedule and the JCI processOpen to occasional business travel (domestic and international)Preferred:Master’s Degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or other related technical disciplinePractical experience in Design for reliabilityExperience with a stage-gate product development processLean/Six Sigma training, Green or Black BeltFamiliarity with reading/Interpreting Engineering drawings and understanding GD&T, CAD softwareTake some time to and apply today!
