We are seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Fluent Bit to join our dynamic engineering team.The RoleWe are looking for a skilled Senior Software Engineer with a deep understanding of Fluent Bit to develop, optimize, and maintain our embedded data collection infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development (C/C++), a passion for open-source technologies, and experience in managing and scaling data flows.What You’ll DoDesign, implement, and maintain embedded data collection and processing pipelines using Fluent Bit.Optimize and enhance the performance of Fluent Bit configurations for high throughput and low latency.Integrate Fluent Bit with various data sinks such as Azure, S3, and other storage systems.Develop custom plugins for Fluent Bit as needed to support unique data processing requirements.Collaborate with DevOps and IT teams to ensure seamless deployment and operation of logging infrastructure.Monitor and troubleshoot Fluent Bit instances to ensure reliability and stability.Contribute to the open-source community by reporting issues, contributing to documentation, and submitting patches.Assist with developing and integrating a control plane to manage the distributed architecture on a large scale.Additional Job DescriptionYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) ​Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Proven experience with Fluent Bit, including configuration, customization, and plugin development.Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, and other related languages (10+ years of hands on development experience).Familiarity with QNX and Android.Solid understanding of logging and data processing principles.Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their logging services.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)Contributions to Fluent Bit or other open-source projects.Knowledge of security best practices in logging and data processing.Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.Benefits OverviewThe goal of the General Motors of Canada total rewards program is to support the health and well-being of you and your family.
