The CORE Identity Team is an elite group of tech savvy individuals who work together every day to deliver customer facing authentication solutions. This team is responsible for making logging in and signing up at CARFAX a secure, consistent, and high-quality experience for CARFAX customers. This includes managing and customizing third party authentication solutions while also building and maintaining custom authentication solutions to provide our customers with a great experience that fits our needs!This role has an expectation of 2 days in the London, ON office per week, subject to change based on future business needs.A typical day will have you:

  • Working in a dynamic, agile, team environment supporting high-use, modern applications
  • Coding and testing enhancements for our authentication systems
  • Mentor team members by offering regular feedback on code, team performance and growth opportunities.
  • Lead design decisions, including new technology research and prototyping
  • Helping to support other teams to integrate with our authentication solutions
  • Working with customer support to resolve authentication issues. Participating in daily huddles and other Scrum ceremonies
  • Collaborating closely with other developers, UX designers, support teams and other stakeholders
  • Promoting great software design and quality through a disciplined development methodology

Augmenting and adjusting team processes and practices to continuously improve.Required Experience:

  • Ability to provide leadership and mentor engineers through complicated technical challenges
  • Give team members opportunities to grow by delegating tasks and not being a “superhero”
  • Give team members feedback and coaching on technical skill gaps necessary for growth
  • Ability to work and collaborate effectively in a team environment as well as independently
  • Experience with OAuth2.0, OIDC, or other modern authentication frameworks and conventions
  • Experience with modern front-end JavaScript libraries (such as ReactJS, Vue, or Angular)
  • Experience with JavaScript, NodeJS, TypeScript, HTML5 and CSS3
  • Object oriented experience with languages such as Java, Kotlin, TypeScript, Golang, Python or C#; we primarily use TypeScript and Java
  • Knowledge with client/server architecture and building web services using REST or GraphQL
  • Knowledge of coding best practices for security and performance
  • Relational and NoSQL database systems such as MySQL, Mongo, DynamoDB or Elasticsearch
  • Experience with developing in a cloud environment (AWS preferred)
  • Experience in full SDLC development including design, building, testing, deployment, upgrade, and support.

Preferred Experience:

  • Continuous Integration / Delivery
  • Experience with Authentication / Authorization systems.
  • Experience with microservices architecture.
  • Experience with SEO and/or mobile development.
  • Built large-scale, common applications or services that enrich multiple products.
  • Supported applications in multiple markets (i.e., Canada) and/or languages.
  • Agile software development including Test Driven Development and Pair Programming
