Job description: Nikita Construction is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sheet Metal Journeyperson for its new construction projects with Sandman Hotel Groups in Markham, ON.Reporting to the Site Superintendent, you will oversee and ensure all HVAC sheet metal work is completed in compliance with relevant safety regulations, company policies, and project specifications and timelines.Your Duties and Responsibilities:Installing ductwork and HVAC heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems according to blueprints, specifications, and building codes.
Conducting tests to ensure the proper functioning of HVAC systems, troubleshooting any issues, and making necessary repairs or adjustments.
Working closely with other tradespeople, such as plumbers, electricians, and construction workers, to coordinate installation efforts and ensure seamless integration with other building systems.
Ensuring that all HVAC installations comply with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
Keeping accurate records of work performed, including installation details and equipment specifications.
Support the growth and development of company culture and professionally represent the company.
Performs other duties as required.Requirements:Minimum of 3 years of experience in similar roles.
Up-to-date 308A Sheet Metal License or Red Seal certification.
Registered with Ontario College Of Trades.
Experience in commercial and residential HVAC.
Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and construction documentation.
Familiarity with construction codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Understanding of all safety procedures, hazard recognition, and proactive risk mitigation to ensure health & safety standards.Physical Requirements:Must be able to stand and/or be on their feet 10-12 hours/day.
Must be able to lift 50lbs and use proper lifting techniques for heavy items weighing more than 25 kilograms.
Must be able to climb scaffoldings.What else will make you succeed in this role:Possesses and maintains necessary tools, equipment, and protective gear.
