The Shipping Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are accurate in terms of the product amount. They will direct the storage and handling of products and inventories, ensuring proper documentation of all incoming, outgoing and warehoused material.Principal Responsibilities
- Ensures a safe working environment for all employees.
- Supervises shipment of orders as requested from plant to designation by checking accurate quantity and that it meets company standards and policies in respect to packaging, neatness and cleanliness.
- Use ERP system to handle the incoming and outgoing orders and transfers
- Responsible for ensuring that all outgoing shipments meet IPEX shipping standards, and product ships on schedule.
- Maintains shipping waste management in yard & warehouse. Organize warehouse and yard layout for efficient movement of materials as well as finding and counting product. Improve space and coordinate flow of materials.
- Conduct frequent physical inventory of warehouse and yard, documenting discrepancies and providing accurate counts, gains and losses. Relay pertinent information to management in a timely manner.
- Manage the receiving, shipping, distribution and storage of all products and supplies that come in and out of the plant.
- Cuts stock transfer, consolidates shipment, prepares Bill of Lading (BOL) and customs invoices where required.
- Coordinates and delegates physical counts of inventory and adjust as needed.
- Communicates any delays or variances in inbound and outbound freight to appropriate parties in a timely manner.
- Manages MRP Shipping workbench to ensure all shipping and production orders are not past due and shipped to customers on time.
- Manages and assigns workload accordingly for Material Handlers to ensure shipping and receiving is completed efficiently to meet production goals
- Inventory management tasks such as managing negative inventory and production bins.
Qualifications & Experience
- Completion of High School
- Must have Transportation of Dangerous Goods certification.
- 5+ years experience in a supervisory capacity.
- At least 3 years’ experience in shipping/receiving capacity within manufacturing and/or distribution/warehousing environment
- Experience and familiarity of ISO 9001 requirements and processes in relation to production an asset
- Able to operate lift truck & reach truck
- Good PC skills including MS Office: Word, Excel and Outlook
- Excellent motivational, leadership, coaching, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Able to coordinate and organize multiple responsibilities at the same time.
- Excellent communication, time management and prioritization skills.
- Successful candidate must complete a CTPAT background check.
