From Agile methodologies to mobile applications, to software as a service (SaaS) delivered from our private cloud, we push technology’s boundaries to build scalable, elegant solutions that help investors reach their financial goals.This position is based in our Toronto office, and we follow a hybrid policy of at least 3 days onsite allowing for 2 days remote work.The role:We are looking for a Full Stack Developer to produce scalable software solutions. You will be part of a cross-functional team that is responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment. As a Full Stack Developer, you should be comfortable around both front-end and back-end coding languages, development frameworks, and third-party libraries. You should have solid software engineering experience in building commercial-grade web-based applications and scalable cloud-centric APIs (Applications and programming interfaces). A successful candidate will be able to play an active role in managing the prioritization of work to meet project goals.Job responsibilities:Work with development teams and product managers to build softwareDesign & develop client-side and server-side architectureBuild the front-end of applications using JavaScript technologies (VueJS, NodeJS)Write scalable APIs using Java-based technologies (Java 8+, Java Spring Boot)Develop software with a focus on security, availability, and scalabilityWrite technical documentationQualifications:Proven experience as a full-stack developer or similar role3+ years’ experience in any JavaScript frameworks (such as Angular, VueJS, node.js, React) and libraries (HTML5 / CSS3)3+ years’ experience in back-end languages (Java)Familiarity with any database technologies – Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQLExperience in AWS (Amazon Web Services) based environment building serverless applications is a plusExcellent communication and teamwork skillsGreat attention to detail and organizational skillsNice to have:Experience within the financial services industry100_MstarResCanad Morningstar Research, Inc.
