We’ve all experienced uncertainty while shopping online that has led us to abandon a purchase, and it’s a problem that affects every online shopper and merchant.As a Software Engineer, you’ll report to our CTO and lead technical customer implementation and development of new features for our merchants and consumers. Your work will directly impact tens of thousands customers (and rapidly growing). You will help contribute to and cultivate a strong engineering culture which is critical for the future success of Blackcart.RequirementsYou will
- Lead technical implementation of our product within merchants’ ecommerce stores
- Build, test, and ship end-to-end features to our growing base of customers at a rapid cadence
- Participate in technical design discussions and execute on technical decisions
- Uphold standards for quality by performing code reviews, fixing bugs, creating automated tests, and monitoring performance
- Promote and adhere to the workplace values of Blackcart (walk in the customer’s shoes, speak the truth, care for people, benchmark against the best, run headfirst into hard problems, extreme ownership)
About You
- You have 2+ years of full stack / backend development experience building scalable, fault-tolerant web services
- You have experience working with Shopify ecommerce storefronts – building / updating HTML, CSS, Javascript, and debugging errors and issues in the browser
- You have worked with one of the public clouds – GCP (preferred), AWS, or Azure
- You have working knowledge of React and bonus point if you know Hydrogen from Shopify
- You have experience with relational databases
- You are an effective communicator and work collaboratively across teams
Nice to Have
- You have experience with PHP and Laravel
- You have worked with other e-commerce (WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento) and payment (Stripe, Amazon Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay) platforms
