Job DescriptionThis is an exciting opportunity for a passionate Software Engineer in Test to join our simulation team. You will have the chance to work in a dynamic environment, learn new skills, and grow in your career.The simulation environment is where we bring Vention’s digital twins to life in the browser: actuator motion, sensors, collisions, and performance are all simulated in an interactive, real-time, 3D digital environment.In this position, you will play a critical role in driving quality assurance practices and infrastructure for Vention’s authoring platform. Your work will be instrumental in implementing manual and automated testing strategies to support our development cycle and deployment pipelines, as well as assuring and measuring product integrity and quality in our live systems.Working in a highly collaborative environment, you will work closely with product management, development managers, developers, and business stakeholders to assure the testability of new features, guarantee the quality of features being developed, and ensure they meet requirements and specifications.ResponsibilitiesAssume ownership of quality assurance for the simulation workspace within Vention’s cloud-based design & automation tools, MachineBuilder & MachineLogicDesign and build test cases, prioritize testing requirements and communicate risk for cases not covered by testingWork with other teams to help ensure end-to-end integration testing is well documented and has sufficient coverage for cross-team projects.Implement test automation strategies (frameworks, harnesses, continuous integration) to enable test-authoring in day-to-day development & QA activitiesDesign QA data pipelines to ensure testing environments are set up with representative data to cover agreed-upon test coverageBuild QA automation dashboards to report on test coverage and overall quality metricsParticipate in PR reviews to drive quality practices with the engineering teamParticipate in agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, backlog reviews & sprint demonstrationsEnsure test plans have an automation roadmap based on expected consistency of a feature setQualificationsExperience with test automation tools such as Cypress, Selenium, QASE, Postman, etc.Strong development background in automation scripting, data management and automation. (JavaScript, Python/node.js/Java, intermediate SQL skills, JSON, XML, etc.)Extensive experience in software testing, QA methodologies, testing processes and testing toolsExcellent documentation skills to build and maintain test documentation and have a clear understanding of test coverage for any testing playbookStrong communication skills to work cooperatively with developers, managers and project stakeholdersStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, detail-oriented mindset, and patience in finding and identifying bugsEager to show ownership and improve products incrementally while being mindful of business prioritiesProficiency with Mac & Linux operating systemsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical fieldNice to have: Familiarity with CAD tools such as Solidworks, Inventor, or Fusion360Additional InformationHow We Take Care of You
