As a student at PCL, you will get the opportunity for challenging work assignments in a supportive work environment which promotes personal and professional growth.We are seeking Solar Engineering Students for our Calgary District, within our Canadian Buildings Division that are available for a minimum of 4 months starting in September 2025. This role is fully based in-person on a project site in Claresholm, AB.As a Solar Engineering Student, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:Responsibilities
- Coordinating drawings and work specific scope/trades/sub-trades
- Conduction of trade quote reviews by verifying material quantities, hours and rates
- Participation in project meetings
- Completion of deficiency walks and updating of deficiency logs
- Issues warranties
- Takes/coordinates progress photos
- Updates field drawings and produces as-built drawings
- Performance of quantity takeoffs
- Verification of site conditions and coordination of drawings
- Set-up and maintenance of records
- Project schedule updates and creation of manual schedules using Primavera P6 EPPM software
- Creating and maintaining graphical scheduling using AutoCAD
- Monitoring of workforce productivity
Qualifications
- Preference for students studying in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, renewable energy or similar areas of discipline.
- Candidates must have a strong desire to work in solar or renewable energy functions; prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
- Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.
