Job description: Job Description:THE ROLE:Our client, a well-established publicly traded company, is seeking a Financial Reporting Accountant for a 3-month contract, with the possibility of extension or a permanent opportunity based on business needs and performance. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with experience in financial reporting, compliance, and manipulation of large data.Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare consolidated financial reports including supporting documentation
- Ensure compliance with industry-specific financial reporting guidelines, adapting US GAAP principles to meet regulatory requirements
- Analyze and reconcile differences between reporting and regulatory accounting frameworks, providing insights on key adjustments
- Conduct quarterly and annual financial and operational analyses, identifying trends and variances
- Process journal entries and account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Review and validate account codes, cost allocations, and financial transactions to support internal reporting and compliance efforts
- Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments to gather, verify, and integrate financial data for reporting purposes
- Support calculations related to pricing indices, cost of capital, and revenue reporting, contributing to the development of economic and industry-specific reports
ABOUT YOU:You are a detail-oriented professional with a Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Finance, Accounting, or Commerce, and hold (or are working toward) an Accounting Designation such as CPA, CA, CMA, or CGA. Your expertise includes preparing financial statements and working with large data sets in Excel, showcasing your advanced analytical and problem-solving skills. You are resourceful when navigating challenges and thrive in roles involving financial reporting, compliance, and data manipulation.
