Job description: PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:The Specialist Software Developer Middleware is accountable for maintaining and supporting core business systems and, analyzing, developing, testing, implementing and documenting changes to these systems that will contribute to the organization’s ability to achieve its goals.POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Provide maintenance and support for COBOL-based applications (MSC & EWM) deployed on Micro Focus Enterprise Server
  • Troubleshoot issues within the application stack, Micro Focus runtime, including CICS Gateway, MQ Series, JCL, CICS, Stored Procedures, and IBM DB2 UDB
  • Work closely with development teams to analyze and resolve application defects and performance issues
  • Monitor application performance and proactively identify areas for optimization
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams to ensure the smooth operation of the application environment and resource utilization
  • Manage integration with Control-M scheduler for job scheduling and monitoring
  • Maintain / update security using Open-LDAP (Micro Focus External Security Manager) for Micro Focus resource access
  • Work with Jenkins for application builds and deployment

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 7+ experience in maintaining and supporting COBOL-based applications deployed on distributed platforms (Micro Focus Enterprise Product Suite deployed on Linux)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze complex issues within the application stack (Microfocus)
  • Proficiency in working with CICS Gateway, MQ Series, JCL, CICS, Stored Procedures, and IBM DB2 UDB
  • Experience with Control-M scheduler for job scheduling and monitoring
  • Knowledge of Open-LDAP (Micro Focus External Security Manager) for securing Micro Focus resources
  • Familiarity with Jenkins for application builds and deployment
