Job description: Job Description:Our Edmonton-based client is seeking a Senior Accountant to support their finance team through a period of operational backlog and increased reporting demands. This role is well-suited for a seasoned professional with strong financial knowledge, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day accounting functions in alignment with GAAP
- Perform full-cycle accounting, including AP and AR
- Support bank and credit card reconciliations
- Maintain the general ledger and prepare trial balances
- Assist with budgeting at the individual level
- Handle complex reporting requirements tied to classified funders
- Investigate discrepancies and perform data analysis
- Clear backlog and contribute to higher reporting standards
Requirements:Qualifications:
- 10+ years of accounting experience
- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, data analytics)
- Working knowledge of payroll; ADP experience is an asset but not required
- Currently pursuing a CPA designation
- Strong perseverance, attention to detail, and financial acumen
- Available to start immediately
