Job description: Job Description:Our long-standing well established client in York Region is looking for their next Solid Sr. General Accountant for their on-site working location in the Vaughan area . Reporting to the Sr. Controller , and working with Engineering and Operations departments – you will instrumental in the daily operational accounting activities & focusing on some WIP / Costing

• Project Costing : monitor project costs, such as overhead, freight, fluctuations in material costs, labour etc. – to reflect the true costing methodologies for multiple projects at a time. Complete a comparison to the cost of sales.

• Prepare a variance reports and analysis

• Generate data to benchmark for future projects and track long-term cost trends

• Assist in creating SOX package, and any other supporting documentation for auditors.

• Develop and document audit processes to maintain internal controls, with the Controller.

• Identify variances to actual results; analyze cost drivers; develops recommendations & findings

• Investigate cycle counting variances and resolve issues with operations team.

• Provide accurate and timely financial information and ad hoc reporting

Education / Requirements :

• Business degree in Accounting, CPA is an asset. or working towards

• Minimum of 3+ years accounting/finance experience, in a manufacturing, or similar industry

is highly preferred / along with Project / Job Costing or standard costing exposure .

• Solid Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) knowledge with financial accounting

statements preparation experience

• G/L functions and the month-end/quarter-end / year-end close process.

• Good collaboration & a team player, able to work with all staff levels.

• Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, i.e., MS Dynamics

Requirements:Costing, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close Procedures ,

Expected salary: $90000 – 100000 per year
