Job description: Job Description:Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional with a passion for process improvement and high-volume environments? Our client in Calgary is seeking a Senior Accountant for a contract role to support their dynamic finance team. This opportunity offers the chance to work in a collaborative, fast-paced setting that spans multiple entities, currencies, and business partners.Key Responsibilities:
- Handle high volumes of invoice processing and email correspondence
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies, including vendor statements, purchase orders, tax issues, and foreign exchange variances
- Ensure timely processing of fuel invoice payments and support accurate month-end reporting
- Assist with ad-hoc reporting, financial analysis, and process documentation
- Maintain compliance with internal controls and C-SOX
- Perform additional tasks and support special projects as needed
Requirements:Requirement:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Advanced Excel skills and ability to learn new systems
- Experience with JD Edwards (preferred)
- Familiarity with ERP/reporting tools (e.g., Hyperion)
- Detail-oriented, organized, and adaptable in high-volume environments
- Able to work independently and handle confidential information
- Available to start immediately
