In this position you will play a key role in assisting the Supervisor, Pension Reporting with leading, coordinating and preparing the annual Pension and other post-retirement benefits (OPEB) plan financial statements, pension note disclosure in quarterly consolidated financial statements of Enbridge Inc. and its subsidiaries, and pension accounting and budgeting.We provide career growth opportunities, skill development, and competitive benefits including generous time off.Apply now to join our diverse team! #joinourteamWhat you will doLead the preparation of Canadian and US Pension and OPEB plan financial statements of Enbridge Inc.Lead the preparation and review of note disclosure for pension and OPEB plans in quarterly/annual financial statements for Enbridge Inc. and its public reporting issuers.Lead the preparation of monthly pension accounting journal entries and quarterly account reconciliations.Lead the annual budgeting and reforecasting process of pension related expense for Enbridge Inc. and its subsidiaries.Lead the Sarbanes-Oxley compliance for Pension Reporting team, ensuring that all key controls over pension reporting for Enbridge Inc. are appropriately documented and supported.Maintain strong and constructive relationships with staff of Human Resources, Pension Investments, Financial Planning & Analysis, Corporate Accounting, and Legal.Liaise with external auditors and third-party consulting firms to ensure year-end audit and ad-hoc work are completed effectively and efficiently.Lead and participate in pension reporting related improvement initiatives.Present to the Pension Committee of Enbridge Inc. and its sub-committees on changes in key pension assumptions annually and provide pension accounting and reporting expertise for communications with senior executives.Support the preparation of financial statements for Enbridge Inc.’s subsidiaries and investments as required.Participate in and/or lead continuous operational improvement initiatives as required.Mentor, coach and indirectly supervise junior members of the Pension Reporting team, including detailed review of their work and assistance with their performance assessment.Who you areYou have the following qualifications and skills:Designated Accountant with 6 or more years of relevant post-qualification work experienceThorough knowledge of US GAAP and working knowledge of IFRS is beneficialDemonstrated leadership and teamwork skillsStrong analytical, communication and interpersonal skillsProven team player, with the ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships, while demonstrating a high level of cooperation and mutual respectStrong organizational skills; ability to manage several project deadlines concurrentlyHigh level of personal and professional integrityPrior knowledge of pension accounting/ reporting considered an assetWorking Conditions:Open Office EnvironmentFlex-Work: Enbridge provides competitive workplace programs that differentiate us and offer flexibility to our team members.
