We build simulations based on those models and transfer knowledge from simulation to the real world to create optimum appliances that make teeth move predictably according to a prescription given by an orthodontist. Those geometrical models are either generated by an intraoral scanner, reconstructed from CT scans, or parametrically designed. The Align Appliance Design Innovation Team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team. The team develops innovative products to treat new categories of patients or solve clinical problems (an example of a product is Mandibular Advancement Occlusal Blocks designed for Class II correction). The team’s work is related to 3D modeling and the development of complex algorithms.In this role, you will…
- Design, develop, and implement new solutions for modeling 3D objects, processing 3D surfaces, modeling treatment.
- Improve and optimize the existing algorithms.
- Research and prototype solutions
- Analyze existing problems, requirements, and dependencies.
- Develop metrics and tests to determine the quality of selected solutions and analyze statistics.
- Interact with the SQA team to ensure high-quality software.
- Present changes to customers and users
- Collaborate with other cross-functional teams within the company.
- Lead and mentor Software Engineers/Junior Software Engineers
- Other responsibilities as required.
In this role, you’ll need …
- 8+ years of C++ development
- Experience in enterprise / commercial software development
- Higher technical education (engineering, computer science, mathematics)
- Excellent knowledge of C ++, STL, OOP
- Basic knowledge of linear algebra, analytical geometry, theory of algorithms
- Ability to understand someone else’s code.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
Desired:
- Knowledge of optimization methods (numerical methods)
- Understanding of 3D-geometry algorithms
