We are looking to add a Sr. DevOps Engineer to our Activate team.The NIQ Activate team serves dozens of retailers and brands worldwide using cutting-edge Big Data, real-time analytics, and data science automation. Our solution is disrupting existing data & media monetization models by enabling retailers to remain in control of their revenue.This is a remote-based role in Canada. Candidates must be physically located in Canada.Job DescriptionAs a Sr. DevOps Engineer, you’ll work on the maintenance and development of our CI/CD tools, IAAC, and other OPS tools. You are responsible for the deployment of production code for environments and software. You will take ownership of the Incident, Change, Problem, and Release Management activities for all production and non-production environments. In addition, you are involved with development teams as new hardware and software are being prepared for release. You will work towards becoming a technical lead /SME in one or more of our tools in the tech stack.Responsibilities:
- Manage cloud platform components following best practices in cloud and microservices development and deployment.
- Collaborate with other functional teams (development, product, support).
- Maintain and deploy automation of infrastructure and continuous integration jobs affected by their work.
- Incident & Problem Management – Ensures that incidents and problems related to NIQ Activate suite of applications are investigated and resolved within pre-defined SLAs. Recommends improvements where possible.
- Application Configuration – Works with Software Engineering teams to ensure proper configuration of the applications in both Production and non-production.
- Release Management – Participates in release planning and is a main implementer of these releases into production.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in IT Operations, DevOps, or SRE engineering.
- Experience within the Service Management Lifecycle using tools such as ServiceNow, Freshservice, and Jira Service Desk.
- Strong background in Kubernetes administration including deployment, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools such as GIT and Jenkins.
- Experience with IAAC tools such as Terraform.
- Background in Linux/Unix administration.
- Good knowledge in at least one relevant programming/scripting language such as Python or PowerShell.
- Experience with cloud-based solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, Loki or other similar logging and monitoring tools.
- College degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Statistics, Math.
- Result-driven, pragmatic, and innovative.
- Experience with SingleStore, Snowflake, BI tools i.e. PowerBI – nice to have.
