Working here is fast-paced, non-stop, and a little unpredictable—and we love it.Your area of focus.The Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing various accounting functions, including posting journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and assisting in the preparation of financial reports. The successful candidate will work closely with the sales, finance, and inventory teams to ensure accurate financial transactions, maintain proper documentation, and contribute to the month-end close process.What drives your day-to-day?

  • Ensure accurate posting of journal entries, review and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Ensure all sales, trade-ins, financing, and other deal-related details are recorded in a timely and precise manner.
  • Work closely with the sales, finance, and accounting teams to verify the accuracy of the deal documents, maintain proper records, and ensure financial transactions are properly documented for reporting and audit purposes.
  • Process customer payments and assist with collections and customer inquiries.
  • Assist Controller in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, etc.
  • Work closely with the inventory team to ensure accurate reporting of inventory purchases and sales and help with periodic stock counts.
  • Assist with the month-end close process, including preparation of necessary reports, reconciliations, schedules, and journal entries.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to audit inquiries.

What are the must haves…

  • A high school diploma, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of related experience.
  • Experience with CDK software would be considered an asset.
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word).
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to interact with internal clients, key vendors, and employees.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment with an ability to multi-task and set priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, handling multiple priorities, performing a variety of tasks and meeting required deadlines.
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a high-volume, fast-paced working environment, frequently under urgent deadlines.
