Job description: Job Description:Our client in Calgary is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join their finance team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with ERP systems and possess intermediate to advanced skills in Excel. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for various accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all financial transactions and reporting.Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions.
• Assist with month-end close procedures and financial reporting.
• Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts.
• Analyze financial data and assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Support audits and ensure compliance with accounting principles.
• Ad-hoc duties as requested.

Requirements:Requirements:

• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in accounting roles.
• Proficiency in Caseware required.
• Experience in Quick Books and Sage preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
• CPA certification or progress towards CPA is a plus.
• Available to start immediately.
