Job description: Job Description:We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Spruce Grove, Alberta. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate financial statements and providing valuable advisory services to clients. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, excellent communication abilities, and a client-focused approach.Responsibilities:

• Prepare Notice to Reader financial statements in line with applicable accounting standards.

• Collaborate with clients to gather and analyze financial data for accurate and timely reporting.

• Perform bookkeeping tasks, including reconciliations and personal/corporate tax filings, to ensure compliance.

• Offer advisory services related to financial processes, budgeting, and tax strategies.

• Build and maintain strong client relationships while managing a portfolio of accounts.

• Ensure all work meets deadlines and maintains high standards of quality.

• Stay updated on financial regulations and adjust practices to remain compliant.

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education in accounting, such as a bachelor’s degree, diploma, or related coursework.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a public practice accounting environment

• Proficiency in accounting software such as CaseWare, as well as advanced Excel capabilities.

• Strong understanding of financial reporting standards and compliance requirements.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills to effectively manage client relationships and workflows.

• Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger processes.

• Experience with month-end close procedures

Expected salary: $55000 – 65000 per year
