This versatile role will involve working directly with several our staff and clients. We are looking for an individual who is committed to a career in taxation and has the desire to take a lead role in contributing both to the growth of the firm and our clients.Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Involvement in tax planning and tax provision work
- Collaborate internally with other client service departments to gather information to meet deadlines
- Prepare Canadian Income Tax Returns
- Learning tax compliance rules and regulations
- Be an active participant in all internal firm meetings and events and provide a notable in-office presence for the tax team
- Having a customer-service focused attitude to both internal team members and external clients
A successful candidate will have:
- Diploma or a bachelor’s degree with a focus on accounting
- 1-2 years of prior work experience
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Highly organized, the ability to re-prioritize workload and adapt to changing circumstances, and strong time management skills
- A professional and courteous manner
- Driven, flexible and motivated to help others
- Strong attention to detail
- A strong desire to continuously learn and grow within the field of tax accounting, with an eagerness to take on new challenges and responsibilities as part of your career development.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
