Job description: What you’ll doThe Proto Store Planner is responsible maintaining prototype floorplans that accurately capture evolving retail and merchandising strategies. This includes overseeing retail and building standards with a strong focus on store operations and the customer experienceAssisting with maintenance of AutoCAD manual standards, Prototypes drawings, specifications & block librariesPlan, manage and implement accurate and detailed concept, strategy, and merchandising programs into prototype drawingsCapture planogram allocation in JDA Floor Planning for all current concept sizes in collaboration with the Space Planning department and ensure proto standards and quality of plans are maintained season over seasonWork with Construction (Design & Standards Team) on the on-going maintenance and value engineering of physical building and operational attributesCollaborate with the Store Operations Team to maximize operational efficiencies in our storesEstablish electrical requirements and capture (via AutoCAD) for all prototypical drawingsPrepare and analyze prototypical cost summaries of building, fixtures, and décorAct as the primary communication source for Development Planning and Store Planning departments for all prototype strategy developments (both current and future)Communicate and handoff to all teams in the form prototypical retail plans, warehouse drawings, and decor plansContribute to process improvement and innovationWhat you bringDegree or diploma in Architectural Technology, Interior DesignExceptionally strong AutoCAD skillsAtleast 3 years experience in a related fieldStrong working knowledge of architectural drawings and the ability to interpret and make recommendationsWorking knowledge of drafting standards, layouts, and conventionsKnowledge of various relevant Building Codes and Accessibility requirementsStrong design, technical CAD drafting (proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, knowledge in ArchiCAD, various CAD software and SketchUp is an asset)Strong analytical ability and negotiation skillsExceptionally strong priority setting and time management skillsAbility to deal with ambiguityKnowledge of Canadian Tire Retail is an assetHybridAt Canadian Tire we work flexibility embracing ‘Hybrid’ whereby individuals utilize a combination of working at a CTC campus and or virtually in service of outcomes.
