The firm employs 50+ employees and offers accounting, advisory, taxation, valuation, and litigation support
services.Overview of the Opportunity:
The Supervisor, Accounting and Assurance, will focus on providing high-quality
accounting, assurance, and consulting services for clients.Roles and Responsibilities:
- Prepare engagement deliverables (financial statements, letters, communications, etc.).
- Review, investigate, and correct accounting and assurance engagement files and financial statements.
- Review work in progress of assigned staff members. Maintain high-quality control when reviewing work done by other team members and providing feedback to team members.
- Assist with technical accounting issues and act as a point of contact for audit and accounting assistance.
- Prepare/review corporate and personal tax returns.
- Communicate and maintain relationships with clients, Canada Revenue Agency, lawyers, and bankers.
- Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work
processes.Skills: Must Have:
- Canadian CPA designation or CFE passed
- Experience with review engagements, compilations, and tax returns (private enterprise)
- Must be able to work hybrid in Hamilton
- Hiring Status: Urgently hiring
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or related equivalent degree
Completion of a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designationExperience:
- Minimum of four years of experience in public practice
Skills and Knowledge:
- Advanced accounting, auditing, and tax skills
- Experience with CaseWare, Caseview, and TaxPrep considered an asset
- A team player able to rally resources and work with others to meet the needs of the client
- Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence
- Strong interest in coaching and development, with a commitment to personal growth
- Proven ability to deliver the full cycle of project management accountabilities
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines
