If so, this exceptional opportunity as Supervisor, Business Planning, Reporting & Support is just for you!Reporting to the Director of the Department Strategy & Project Management Centre of Excellence, you will lead a team of skilled professionals and specialists. Together, you will take charge of executing department performance reporting, business planning, and managing project setup and support.As the Supervisor, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring that our capital projects meet the highest standards of quality expected by the Council, Edmontonians, and our valued business partners. Through comprehensive reporting and effective quality management, you will ensure that every project we deliver exceeds expectations.What will you do?
- Inspire and empower team members through effective mentorship, clear communication, and a commitment to advancing a positive and inclusive work environment
- Provide strategic leadership and guidance over the development and improvement of the Department’s business plans, budgets and project transactions and reporting
- Monitor and manage strategic risk management frameworks for the Department and Branches
- Continuously improve how we transact and support our capital projects, so that they are managed in a consistent way and that we have the right processes in place.
- Foster strong, mutually supportive relationships with internal teams and external partners to drive mutual understanding and achieve shared goals
- As a member of the branch extended leadership team, contribute to the success of the priorities and direction of the section and the branch
- Brief Directors, Branch Managers and the Deputy City Manager on the overall scope and health of the Department’s strategic planning, risk, reporting and project setup and support programs
- Focus on team by building a respectful workplace culture through a values-based influencer approach and working collaboratively
- Anticipate business opportunities, influence policy, planning and initiatives, and foster a culture of accountability through performance measurement
Qualifications
- Knowledge, training and or education in Business Administration, Accounting, Public Administration or a related field
- Leadership experience in a complex organization
- Experience working in the areas of strategy internal to the organization: planning and strategic/enterprise risk management in a large and complex organization
- Experience implementing complex program, process and system changes
Assets:
- Chartered Professional Accountant designation – CPA
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Organizational Change Management Certification
- Master’s Degree in a related field
- Public Sector experience
