For more information on the Ministry, please visitRole ResponsibilitiesThe Systems Coordinator is responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining financial and office management systems associated with the budgets and expenditures of the Arts Branch and the Alberta Foundation for the Arts (AFA). Major responsibilities include oversight of financial reconciliation and office management systems to support effective and timely delivery of services to the public. This position interprets policy to ensure systems protocols are aligned with functional and technical requirements to support operations, programming, and services. The Systems Coordinator also provides quality assurance on related processes which is essential to maintain the integrity of data and ensure sound financial and program management.This position supports the Arts Branch and the AFA with and financial and operational components, including oversight on records management, compliance with policy, standard operating procedures, and compliance and audit controls.Main Duties of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Ensures financial, operational, and program delivery systems provide timely and accurate information and optimal functionality in support of Arts Branch and AFA services.
- Leads development, maintenance, and implementation of process-oriented systems utilized within the branch.
- Provides financial oversight on financial, business, contracts, and grants management systems.
- Oversees data management and records retention policies and procedures.

QualificationsTwo-year diploma in a related field (public administration or financial planning/accounting) plus five years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described.Equivalency:Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:
- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
Related experience must include:
- Minimum 3 years’ prior experience in public administration or financial planning/accounting.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and concepts and ability to apply them to the branch and agency finances.
- Knowledge of GoA, department, and agency financial and procurement frameworks within which the Arts Branch operates, i.e. Financial Administration Act, Alberta Foundation for the Arts Act, Regulations, Directives, department policy.
- Knowledge of AFA and Arts Branch programs, services, and priorities.
- Knowledge of GoA financial systems, i.e. 1GX, Concur.
