I am assisting one of our clients in the distribution sector in their search for a Team Leader.
Under the supervision of the Distribution Supervisor, the Team Leader will be responsible for supporting the management team in planning and organizing the daily operations of the department.Responsibilities:

• Analyze floor operations, define priorities, and allocate team members according to the operational needs of the shift
• Ensure the operational productivity of the team and support members in achieving productivity targets
• Promote health and safety standards (OHS) and ensure the team works in a safe environment
• Ensure that equipment inspections are conducted by workers and that mechanical issues are addressed
• Identify the training needs of distributors and suggest opportunities for improving training
• Ensure the scanning of all pallets sent for distribution
• Analyze distribution error reports and forward the information to the relevant individuals
• Coordinate with the central aisle department to ensure pallets are distributed following the FIFO method
• Coordinate the use of electric pallet jacks at the start and end of the shift, and ensure cleaning at the end of the shift
• Generate work sheets for dispatchers, missing labels for distribution, and productivity reports
• Ensure the smooth flow of the department and that operations are adequate
• Make recommendations regarding the work environment and the equipment used by the team

Requirements:

• College degree in administration, supply chain, operations management, or a combination of equivalent studies and experience
• Minimum one (1) year of experience in a similar position
• Ability to coordinate multiple activities at once and manage priorities
• Good knowledge of the Office suite, particularly Excel
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Organized, detail-oriented, and rigorous
• Ability to work in a dynamic, high-volume environment
